Bay Watershed Education and Training Program (B-WET)

Ivan domonstrating the watershed model

The Bay Watershed Education and Training Program, Monterey Bay, was established in 2003 to improve student and teacher understanding of environmental stewardship through education. The B-WET Program provides organizations with funds to support environment-based education to students, teachers and communities throughout the Monterey Bay watershed. Through competitively based grants, the B-WET Program offers an opportunity to bring the environment into the classroom and/or students out into Monterey Bay in a meaningful way. The Monterey Bay and its tributaries are a living resource that provides a genuine, locally relevant source of environmental knowledge that can help advance student learning skills and problem-solving abilities across the entire school curriculum.
