1a. Develop and implement a Teacher Institute in partnership with the National Hispanic University and Calif. State University's Moss Landing Marine Labs.

1b. Provide and coordinate four paid internships to Hispanic students enrolled in California State University, Monterey Bay. Emphasis on resource management applications of GIS technology and issue-based marine education.

2. Site-Based Community Bilingual Ocean Outreach Program:

2a. Provide a Bilingual Education Specialist to implement outreach programs in partnership with Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve (ESNERR).

 

2b. Provide a Bilingual Education Specialist to implement outreach programs in partnership with California State Parks, Monterey County.

3. Community-Based Bilingual Ocean Outreach Program:

3a. Develop and implement outreach programs with the City of Salinas' Federal Weed & Seed Initiative - through its 2nd Chance and Kid's House Programs.

3b. Develop and implement outreach programs with the City of Watsonville Parks and Recreation & Neighborhood Services and Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) Extended Learning Programs.

3c. Develop and implement a MERITO partnership to support CSU Monterey Bay RISE Program's need for science enrichment, and contribute to a S.E.A. Lab Monterey Bay program curriculum.

3d. Develop and implement a MESA Program called "Natural Resource Management Days" that would include two days of focused national marine sanctuary activities for 80 Hispanic middle school students, 3 times/year.

3b. Develop an outreach program in partnership with agricultural industry by working closely with the Coalition of Central Coast County Farm Bureaus.
