Watershed Map - Salinas River

  Salinas River

The Salinas River is a major watershed that flows into the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. There are several large urban areas within the watershed, but the primary land use is agriculture and grazing land. High nitrate levels are commonly found in the surface waters of this watershed. Other issues include siltation, water diversions, migration barriers for salmonids, and high water temperatures.
