Position
Summary:
The Outreach Specialist will oversee community and constituent outreach
programs associated with the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary's
SIMoN program (Sanctuary Integrated Monitoring Network). Key functions
include developing, implementing and evaluating outreach products for
the internet that summarize and interpret scientific information from
the Sanctuarys monitoring program. Audiences for these products
include resource managers, scientists, educators and the general public.
The Outreach Specialist will also work with other Sanctuary personnel
to develop reports on monitoring activities and the health of the Sanctuary.
This is a one-year TERM position renewable upon continued funding.
Qualifications/Skills:
Undergraduate degree and relevant experience required, graduate degree
preferred. Experience in developing and implementing web-based communication
products for the Internet and knowledge of monitoring programs to support
resource management issues.
