ABSTRACT

The report is divided into five major sections, with supporting information and material at the back of each section. The five sections are:

1. An economic overview of the State of California;
2. Economic snapshots of the counties that comprise the MBNMS community;
3. A summary of the research conducted to identify Department of Commerce agencies and programs that may have utility for selected businesses in our area;
4. Case studies of businesses and organizations with initiatives related to the MBNMS;
5. Recommendations for next steps; including specific analysis and suggestions for the Information Technology/Software, Agriculture and Travel/Tourism Industries.

The final section has a copy of a Department of Commerce case study on an organization in East Palo Alto.
