NEW BUSINESS

-----------------------------
Dear RAP members,

This Friday's RAP meeting will be held in Room E136 of Building 53 (the
new Science Acadmic Center building) on the CSU Monterey Bay campus.
Please follow the parking instructions below to avoid a parking ticket
from our over-zealous parking patrol folks.

Step 1: Download and print the CSUMB campus map from
http://csumb.edu/general/campus_map/CSUMB-Campus-Map.pdf

Step 2: Get to the University Center (Bldg. 29 on map) to buy a parking
pass from the little dispenser in the parking lot there. You may need up
to 6 quarters. To get there from Hwy 1, take the Fort Ord Main entrance,
which will put you onto Lightfighter Drive heading inland. Follow Light
Fighter until it crosses General Jim Moore Blvd., then curves to the right
and comes to a stop sign. At the stop sign, take a left onto Colonel
Durham and follow it to the next stop sign at 6th Ave. Turn left onto 6th
Ave. and proceed a couple blocks until you see the University Center,
which is easily recognizable on the left (west) side of the road because
of its large, white, volcano-shaped, canvas roof. You'll need to pull into
the parking lot just before the building to purchase a parking pass from
the dispenser located at the edge of the lot on the near (south) side of
the building.

Step 3: Proceed to the Science Academic Center (Bldg. 53 on map). Get back
in your car and continue down 6th Ave for one long block until you see the
new Chapman Science Academic Center on your left. It is a 3-story
building made from pink cinder block, blue sheet metal, and redwood
panneling. Can't miss it. You should be able to find parking in the lot
between 6th Ave and the Science Center early on Friday morning. If not,
continue down the hill on 6th Ave, turn left on 3rd Street, and then left
on 5th Ave to come back up the hill and access the second Science Center
Parking lot on the other side of the building. If that lot is full, your
best bet is to head east until you find an empty lot.

PLEASE, BE SURE TO DISPLAY YOUR PARKING PASS ON YOUR DASHBOARD BEFORE YOU COME IN TO THE MEETING.

Step 4: Find Room E136. Enter the building, make your way to the ground
floor of the wing that points east, and find room E136, which is the
upper-division physics/electronics teaching lab. (Not exactly a
conventional meeting room, but we want to show off our new classrooms!)

Step 5: See me (Steve) if you want to be reimbursed for your parking pass.
If you have questions, please e-mail or call me in advance (contact info
below). Thanks!
--- Steve
