Joint Management Plan Review Issues for the RAP (Andrew DeVogelaere)
A list
of research-related items from the JMPR was presented to the RAP in
response to concerns raised at the last meeting
There
was a discussion on how to involve the RAP in the review of the forming
research plan for the Sanctuary
Andrew
DeVogelaere will send an e-mail to the RAP asking for feedback about
the plan with the final goal of obtaining a RAP statement on the research
plan in time to have an impact on the final draft (timeline to be
determined)

will have no replacement (until their financial situation improves)
for Deborah Johnston on the RAP. CDFG is, however, actively involved
through Paul Reilly's role on the SAC and SIMoN Science Committee
Biogeographic
Assessment Discussion (Andrew DeVogelaere)
Responding
to RAP concerns at an earlier meeting, Andrew DeVogelaere provided
the RAP with an opportunity to review and comment on two biogeographic
documents recently completed by NCCOS. It was decided that previously
concerned RAP members (e.g. Mary Yoklavich, Mark Carr, Greg Cailliet,
and Jeff Paduan) would be contacted to explore conducting a review
(content and process) and compose a letter to NCCOS on behalf of the
RAP
Update
on Sanctuary Currents Symposium and Research Team 2003 Report to the
SAC (Sarah Smith)
Posters
for the 2004 Sanctuary Currents were distributed to members in attendance
to advertise the event
