    Learn how to identify local marine mammals, from sea otters to blue whales, who live and migrate along the CA Coast. Learn what to do if you see an injured animal, and how to be an ocean steward!
      July 5th WHAT LIVES IN A DROP OF SEAWATER?
    Using oceanographic equipment, collect water samples from the pier and then use the Center’s video microscope to analyze the amazing plant and animal communities that live in a drop of seawater!
      July 12th MARINE MAMMALS OF THE CENTRAL COAST
    Learn how to identify local marine mammals, from sea otters to blue whales, who live and migrate along the CA Coast. Learn what to do if you see an injured animal, and how to be an ocean steward!
      July 19th BEACH EXPLORATION
    Join marine biologist, John Menke to learn about tides, collect sand crabs and perform scientific experiments to further your understanding of sandy beach ecosystems!
      July 26th EXPLORING OLD SAN SIMEON
    Join us at the Coastal Discovery Center to travel through time as we explore cultures of the native peoples, shore whaling and other uses of San Simeon Cove. Presentation will include a short walk to the end of San Simeon pier and back (@ 2,000 feet).
      August 2nd BEACH EXPLORATION
    Join marine biologist, John Menke to learn about tides, collect sand crabs and perform scientific experiments to further your understanding of sandy beach ecosystems!
