Sanctuary Condition Report

This report provides a summary of sanctuary resources, threats to these resources, the current condition and trends, and management responses to pressures threatening the integrity of the marine environment. The report includes information on the status and trends of water quality, habitat, living resources and maritime archaeological resources and the human activities that affect them.

Sanctuary Management Plan

In November of 2008, the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries released a final revised management plan, regulations, and final environmental impact statement for the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. These documents are a result of over seven years of study, planning and extensive public input and address key sanctuary issues such as ecosystem protection, wildlife disturbance, vessel discharge, water quality, introduced species and coastal development.
