Sandy beaches

Sandy beaches make up about half of the sanctuary shoreline. These dynamic sandscapes are continually sculpted by waves. Waves change the beaches from season to season, eroding them in winter and building them back in summer. Waves and currents constantly move tons of sand southward along the central coast, too.
